He was born in 1972, in the city of Casablanca, Kingdom of Morocco. Dr. Shakir received Baccalaureat en science (primary specialized education) in Bordeaux, France.
- In 1998, he graduated from the Medical faculty of the RUDN University (Moscow).
- From 1998 to 2000 he completed his education as the clinical resident at the Scientific Research Institute of Urology (Moscow).
- In 2004 received Ph.D. degree for his dissertation: “Prevention of inflammatory complications after endoscopic operations” under the supervision of Professor Kamalov A.
- At the same time, between 1998 and 2004, he passed residency in Grenoble clinical hospital (short-time courses).
- From 2000 to 2006 Dr. Shakir worked as a senior urologist in the Moscow municipal clinical hospital No. 47, in the department of endoscopy and andrology under the supervision of professors Kamalov A. and Kovalev V.
- For 5 years (2002 – 2006) he has hold the position of Urologist in charge of Moscow and was responsible for the provision of emergency urological care in all Moscow hospitals.
- In 2006 Dr. Shakir has founded the Urology department in a private clinic (European medical center) and headed this department for 8 years. In this clinic Dr. Shakir used to perform more than 300 different surgeries a year and consult more than 100 patients every month.
Due to frequent practical training in France and Switzerland, Dr. Shakir succeeded to adopt the European approach in his daily work with patients.
Dr. Shakir was one of the first surgeons in Russia who started to apply laparoscopy for the treatment of urological patients in the early 2000s. At that time, it was a completely revolutionary approach compared to classical surgery. Dr. Shakir has performed more than 1500 laparoscopic and endoscopic operations, some of them were done for the first time in Russia.
Since 2013, Dr. Shakir started to use the most modern robotic equipment for urological operations. He has performed more than 50 surgical interventions with Da Vinci robot, including robotic kidney resection for cancer, performed in Russia for the first time.
